SAVE THE DATE FOR THE SECOND ANNUAL PEACE IN CT CONFERENCE
Time to Get Real:
Moving Communities From Violence to Peace
Friday, June 19, 2015
8:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Trinity College, Hartford, Connecticut
Last year a dynamic and diverse group of community leaders came together and began the discussion, it’s time to continue the conversation and give you ways to get involved and take action.
Our 2nd annual conference will bring together people to learn, share and connect. The day will begin with a facilitated reflection on youth artwork that illustrates the effects of violence. Then participants will work with story telling to better understand what it means to “walk in someone else’s shoes”.
In afternoon sessions knowledgeable and gifted presenters will educate, challenge and inspire you in the following areas:
1) Methodologies for breaking down divisions and building bridges across community lines
2) Using the arts therapeutically to foster peace in our communities
3) Engaging people in advocacy relating to peace and
community organizing
4) Strategies for mediation/conflict resolution/emotional intelligence
You will leave the day with a list of things you can do to make a difference.
If your organization would like to be a part of a panel discussion please contact Peace in Connecticut at [email protected]
